This scarf is completely reversible, and goes well with Todd’s Basket Weave Hat.
Cast on 30 stitches onto straight needles using a long tail cast on. Work in Garter Stitch for 5 rows (knit all rows). Begin Basket Weave Pattern, work until scarf reaches approximately 80 inches or desired length ending after row 8 or row 16. Work in garter stitch for 5 rows, bind off. For a bind off that more closely matches the cast on row, use a sewn bind off.
Basket Weave Pattern:
Rows 1-8 - *Knit 5 Purl 5 repeat from * until the end of the row.
Rows 9-16 - *Purl 5, Knit 5 repeat from * until the end of the row.
I created this blog to list my patterns. The first ones listed are for my beginning knitting classes, so they are, obviously, beginner patterns. Others of more interest and higher difficulty should be posted in due time. I have also decided that my voice needs to be added to the cacophony of the interwebs, there is obviously a need.
